Exception clause

In the beginning Yah commanded mankind to be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. Gen 1:28

This command was never rescended, and remains in force unto this very day.

In fact Yah protects this law by making the conjugal relationship of man and wife mandatory:

Exo 21:10 KJV If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

H5772

TWOT entry: TWOT - 1650a

Part(s) of speech: Noun Feminine

Strong's Definition: From an unused root apparently meaning to dwell together; (sexual) cohabitation: - duty of marriage.

It is a sad fact, that today a brother is given less rights in the assembly, then a woman of ancient times, causing to many to fall away.

This command also sets the foundation for the exception clause found in Matthew:

Mat 5:32 RNKJV But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

This word for fornication covers all sexual sins, as shown below.

However, there is one type of fornication which is being overlooked, and must be understood. Esau was also a fornicator, however, he became a fornicator by simply refusing the intimate relationship Yah had for him.

Heb 12:16 RNKJV Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

G4205

Original: πόρνος

Transliteration: pornos

Phonetic: por'-nos

Thayer Definition:

  1. a man who prostitutes his body to another's lust for hire
  2. a male prostitute
  3. a man who indulges in unlawful sexual intercourse, a fornicator

Origin: from pernemi (to sell, akin to the base of G4097)

TDNT entry: 15:39,9

Part(s) of speech: Noun Masculine

Strong's Definition: From πέρνημι pernēmi (to sell ; akin to the base of G4097); a (male) prostitute (as venal), that is, (by analogy) a debauchee (libertine): - fornicator, whoremonger.

By refusing this intimate relationship, Esau put his body up for sale, to whomever would have him.  So Esau became a fornicator well before he ever bowed down to any false god.

Likewise, a man Who refuses his wife intimately, is as if he is selling himself on the streets, to any stranger who will pay him.

In like manner, the woman who willfully, and without cause, refuses her husband, is putting herself up for sale, to any man who will buy her.

Yah Yeshua made it plain what must be done In such cases, the refusing spouse should be put away, and the willing spouse is free to remarry, due to the law of being fruitful and multiplying.

Paul also touched on this subject, letting us all know,  refusal is fraud:

1Co 7:5 KJV Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

1Co 7:3-5 OANT PsPv

3 Let a man bestow to his wife the love* that is owed; in this way also, the woman to her husband. 4 A wife is not authorized over her body, but her husband is. In this way also a man is not authorized over his body, but his wife is.

5 Therefore do not deprive one another except when you both agree in a time which you devote to fasting and prayer, and you shall again return to pleasure*, lest Satan tempt you because of the desire* of your bodies.

In the Aramaic Peshitta below, three reasons are given for making an agreed time of separation, short.  They are:

1. Pleasure

2. Desire of your bodies

3. lest the enemy tempt you

1Co 7:5 AEIB לא S10878 not הכיל S5185 therefore תגלזון S3816 deprive you חד S6244 one לחד S6250 another אלא S892 except אמתי S1351 when דתריכון S22993 you both תשתוון S20829 you will agree בזבן S5479 in a time דתתענון S15994 which you devote לצומא S17650 to fasting ולצלותא S17764 and to prayer ותוב S22722 and again לה S10843 to it לצבותא S17522 * to pleasure תתפנון S16832 you shall return דלא S10863 lest ננסיכון S13233 tempt you סטנא S14215 Satan מטל S11636 because of רגתא S19350 * the desire דפגרכון S16409 of your bodies

It is never the will of Yah for a man to stay in an unfruitful relationship.  However, Yah Yeshua also hates divorce.   So we pray for a repaired, fruitful relationships, for all believers in Yah Yeshua.

Fruits of life

Understanding Hebrews 6:4-6: Repentance, Vengeance on Disobedience, and the Fruits of Salvation The passage in Hebrews 6:4-6 is often misunderstood, but when examined closely, it offers profound insights into the nature of repentance, the active "revenge" on disobedience, and the fruits that accompany true salvation. Here's a closer look: Hebrews 6:4-6 (NIV): "For it is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace." This passage might seem to suggest a finality to repentance, but the context reveals a deeper message: Repentance Beyond Mere Acknowledgement: Repentance is not just a personal acknowledgment but must lead to actions that bear witness...

Mary/duty of marriage?

Thank you for your request to rewrite the response with a focus on the “limited time” in 1 Corinthians 7:5 and the “duty of marriage” from Exodus 21:10, using the King James Version (KJV) for clarity, and incorporating the Aramaic Peshitta’s rendering of 1 Corinthians 7:5 to emphasize the return to marital union for the “pleasure of their bodies.” You’ve also stressed that Mary, as a faithful Jewish woman, would not defy biblical commands without clear divine instructions, which are absent in scripture. I’ll reframe the study to highlight these points, grounding it strictly in the Bible (O.T. and N.T., using KJV where possible) and Jewish tradition as Mary would have lived by, with special attention to the Aramaic Peshitta’s nuances.Study on Mary’s Virginity in Light of Biblical Commands and Jewish TraditionThis study examines whether Mary’s perpetual virginity, a doctrine held by some Christian traditions, aligns with biblical commands and Jewish marital norms, particularly the d...

William Tyndale Catholic execution

William Tyndale's Death and Historical ContextWas William Tyndale Murdered by Catholics or Protestants? William Tyndale, an English scholar and translator famous for his English Bible translation, was executed on October 6, 1536, in Vilvoorde, near Brussels (then in the Spanish Netherlands, part of the Holy Roman Empire). He was murdered (executed) by Catholic authorities, specifically under the orders of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V's administration, which was staunchly Catholic. Tyndale was convicted of heresy for his Protestant Reformation-aligned activities, particularly translating the Bible into English, which challenged Catholic control over scripture access. His translation work (e.g., the 1526 New Testament) was seen as heretical because it bypassed Latin and undermined Church authority.Details of Execution: Tyndale was betrayed by Henry Phillips, an English Catholic agent, lured to Antwerp, arrested in 1535, and held for over a year. He was tried for heresy, foun...
