Return or saved 1

 Isa 10:22-23 Rom 9:27-29

Return or Saved?

Rom 9:27-28 KJV 27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: 28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

Rom 9:27 OANT PsPv But Isaiah preached against the children of Israel: "If the number of the children of Israel is as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them shall be saved." *

Rom 9:28 OANT PsPv He has cut the matter short and has cut it off; THE LORD JEHOVAH shall do it upon The Earth.

Rom 9:27 Murdock And Isaiah proclaimed concerning the children of Israel: Though the number of the children of Israel should be as the sand on the sea, a remnant of them will live.

Isa 10:22-23 LOGOS 22 And though the people of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them shall be saved. 23 He will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness; because the Lord will make a short work in all the world.

My translation of the Aramaic Peshitta Rom 9:27-28

But Isaiah preaches against the children of Israel, “For if the the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them shall live (i.e. survive)

The matter (i.e. word) has been cut short and brought to its conclusion, for Master Yah will do it upon the earth”.

My translation of the Aramaic Peshitta Isa 10:22-23

For if your people Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them shall return, he will cut (it) short and complete (it), with cleansing righteousness, because Master Yah of hosts will cut (it) short, and conclude (it) in all the earth.

Isa 10:22-23 LBP (ES) 22 For though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return; their number decreased, cut off, but flooded with righteousness. 23 For the LORD God of hosts shall bring destruction and make decrees throughout all the earth.

Isa 10:22-23 KJV 22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. 23 For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.

NOTES

  1. Perhaps the beyth in yashuwb was mistaken for a ayin, or visa versa. Making yashowb,

Yeshua. Remember, vowels added 1000 years later, at least. Now Yeshua is masculine

And is used only of a name in scripture, which could by why someone thought it was a

            Beyth.

  1. Notice that “the number” is added to the  LXX, and Peshitta, Old and New. Yet this is

Simply to make sense of “the sand of the sea”.

  1. The LXX and Greek N.T., both leave out showteph/overflow/cleanse. Peshitta Old  Covenant retains it, while N.T. leaves it out

  2. The Greek preserves righteousness, while Peshitta, leaves it out.

  3. Killayown and kalah are both taken as kalah, thus finish. By the LXX and Peshitta.

  4. But charuwtz is cut short and necheratzah is judgment in O.C. Peshitta

  5. The Peshitta O.C. has he has cut short, and he has cut off. Lamsa takes cut short to mean, decrease the number of Israel. I don’t  know?  It seems to me that Peshitta O.C. is using killayown for short and off, and charuwtz for cut, both used twice.

  6. Of course it is the miltha/matter/word, that is cut short and cut off, in Peshitta N.T. Which would seem to mean the judgment/cleansing, returning/saving.

These are my thoughts on this very difficult, poorly understood passage. Shalom!

Branch or rising sun?

Zech 3:8 My Servant the Branch/My Servant the Rising Sun Zec 3:8 KJV Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. Zec 3:8 LBP (ES) Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your fellows who stand before you; for you are marvelous men: Behold, I will bring forth the rising of the sun upon my servant. Or: my servant the rising sun To understand how ancient Jews understood the phrase "my servant the branch", as "my servant the rising sun", one must make a close inspection of related Hebrew words to get the clear picture: Samach means joy, from the picture of the sun shining upon the garden, and the rain falling upon the garden, and watching the flowers come to life and grow. zamach means joy from the picture of cutting off one of these flowers and sharing it with others. However, taking a sickle to the garden implies the pruning process.  A proces...

Victory over death
