The leaven hidden in 3 measures of meal: which the scribes removed, but is restored here.
### *Three Witnesses: They Called Him YHWH*
*Isaiah 6 & Genesis 18 — Peshitta, Targums, Bullinger*
*July 23, 2026*
_The scribes changed it. 134 times. Bullinger proves it in Appendix 32 of The Companion Bible._
But I don’t need Bullinger’s word. I have three witnesses: *Peshitta, Targum, and the MT itself where they missed one.*
---
#### *Witness 1: Genesis 18 — Abraham and the Three Men*
*MT Gen 18:3:*
Wayyomer *Adonay*
"And he said, Adonai..."
Ambiguous. Pointing decides if it’s "my lords" or "Lord."
*Peshitta Gen 18:3:*
Wemar *Mar-Yah* en kado...
"And he said, *Mar-Yah — YHWH* — if now I have found favor..."
*Singular. Divine. YHWH.* Not "my lords."
*Targum Pseudo-Jonathan Gen 18:3:*
Wamar *bimtu minnakh YWY*
"And he said: *I beseech you, YHWH*..."
*YHWH. Direct. To the three men.*
*Bullinger’s List:* Gen 18:3, 27, 30, 31, 32 — all 5 times Abraham speaks, original was YHWH. Changed to Adonay by Sopherim.
*Peshitta Gen 18:27, 30, 31, 32:* Mar-Yah *Mar-Yah* every time. YHWH.
*Tg Ps-Jon Gen 18:27, 30, 31, 32:* YWY *YHWH* every time.
*The one they missed:*
*MT Gen 18:22:*
We-Avraham odennu omed lifnei *YHWH*
"Abraham still stood before *YHWH*."
Even MT admits it. One of the three was YHWH. Peshitta + Targum say Abraham called all three YHWH.
*3 measures of meal. Gen 18:6.* Sarah baked 3 se’im — one for each man Abraham called YHWH.
*Matt 13:33 / Luke 13:21:*
"The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in *three measures* of meal, till the whole was leavened."
*Greek:* enekrupsen eis aleurou sata tria — "hid in three sata of flour"
*Sata = se’ah. Same measure Sarah used.*
*Jesus picks that number on purpose.* 3 measures. 3 men. Sarah hid leaven. The scribes hid the Name. *But the leaven works. The Name gets out.*
---
#### *Witness 2: Isaiah 6 — The Throne Room Vision*
*MT Isa 6:1, 8, 11:*
Adonay *Adonai* three times. "I saw Adonai... I heard the voice of Adonai... How long, Adonai?"
*Peshitta Isa 6:1, 8, 11:*
Mar-Yah *Mar-Yah* three times. YHWH. "I saw *YHWH* sitting... I heard the voice of *YHWH*... How long, *YHWH*?"
*Bullinger’s List:* Isa 6:1, 8, 11 — Sopherim changed YHWH to Adonay. Three times in one vision.
*Targum Jonathan Isa 6:1:*
Yekara de-*YWY*
"the glory of YHWH"
Targum won’t say "I saw YHWH." Too dangerous after exile. But it leaves YWY *YHWH* in verse 3: "Holy, holy, holy, *YHWH* of hosts."
*The one they missed:*
*MT Isa 6:5:*
Ki et-ha-melekh *YHWH* tzeva’ot ra’u einai
"For my eyes have seen the King, *YHWH* of hosts."
Isaiah says it himself. He saw YHWH. Peshitta just keeps YHWH in verses 1, 8, 11 where MT changed it.
---
#### *Witness 3: The Pattern — Why Change It?*
*Exodus 33:20:* "No man shall see Me and live."
*But:* Gen 18 — Abraham sees Him, eats with Him.
*But:* Isa 6:1, 5 — Isaiah sees Him, lives.
*But:* Ex 24:10 — "They saw the God of Israel."
*Solution:* Change YHWH to Adonay. Now it’s ambiguous. Did they see "the Lord" or "YHWH"?
*Luke 11:52:* "You took away the key of knowledge."
*The Name was the key.* If Abraham called three men YHWH, if Isaiah saw YHWH — then YHWH appears to men. The scribes hid that.

#### *The Three Witnesses Agree:*
**Verse** **MT** **Peshitta** **Tg Ps-Jon** **Bullinger**
**Gen 18:3** Adonay Mar-Yah YHWH YWY YHWH YHWH → Adonay
**Gen 18:27** Adonay Mar-Yah YHWH YWY YHWH YHWH → Adonay
**Isa 6:1** Adonay Mar-Yah YHWH Yeqara de-YWY YHWH → Adonay
**Isa 6:8** Adonay Mar-Yah YHWH — YHWH → Adonay
**Isa 6:11** Adonay Mar-Yah YHWH — YHWH → Adonay
*Deut 19:15:* "By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established."
*Peshitta:* Eastern Aramaic, 200 AD, translated from Hebrew.
*Targum Ps-Jon:* Palestinian Aramaic, expansive.
*Bullinger:* Documented the Sopherim list from the Massorah itself.
*Three streams. Same reading. YHWH where MT has Adonai.*
*The one MT couldn’t hide:* Gen 18:22 "YHWH stood yet before Abraham." Isa 6:5 "my eyes have seen YHWH." They missed some. But they changed 134.
*Sarah hid leaven in 3 measures. Gen 18:6.*
*The woman hid leaven in 3 measures. Matt 13:33.*
*The scribes hid the Name in 3 measures of text — Genesis, Isaiah, and the Massorah.*
*This is the evidence.* The leaven works. The Name gets out. Link it to the other blog.

Here's a rewritten and tightened version of the blog post draft I gave you earlier. I've kept all the key layers intact but woven in גדי (the young goat/kid = 17) prominently—pairing it beautifully with עגלים (calves/circles = 153) as the two bracketing springs in Ezekiel's vision. This makes the symmetry even clearer and stronger. The Hidden Geometry of 153: Fish, Sons of God, and Two Young AnimalsJohn 21 tells of a night of empty nets turned into an overwhelming catch: exactly 153 large fish, hauled in on the right side, the net miraculously unbroken. Why 153? For centuries this number has intrigued readers. It is no random detail. Layer by layer, Scripture reveals a stunning web of mathematics, gematria, and wordplay—all pointing to resurrection, cleansing, and the great end-time harvest of souls.1. 153 = The 17th Triangular Number153 is the sum of every integer from 1 to 17:1 + 2 + … + 17 = 153This makes it a perfect triangular number—one that forms an equilateral triang...
